Our goal is to serve simple, high-quality, homemade food at reasonable prices. We strive to be a friendly neighborhood place where everyone can come to enjoy a great meal or cool treat in a laid-back, comfortable atmosphere. We acknowledge the importance of working with other local businesses, schools, and organizations in an effort to make our community a great place to live. We look forward to being a staple of Jackson Township and our surrounding towns for many years to come!
Meet Chef Brian Johns
Chef/Owner Brian Johns is a local guy, raised just a few miles down the road in Evans City. He began his culinary career in 1995 as a short-order line cook and student in the vo-tech culinary arts program. He then earned his associate degree from PA Culinary in 1999. Since that time, Brian has gained experience in many levels of the industry: apprentice at The Balsams 5-star Grand Resort Hotel in New Hampshire, shift manager at USA Gourmet in Pittsburgh, pastry chef at Highland Country Club in Westview, sous chef at Hartner’s Restaurant Cranberry, and store manager at Pizza Roma Shadyside, before becoming a founding partner at Goodfello’s Pizza, Pasta & Grille in 2009. In early 2023, he decided to pursue his dream of opening a motorcycle-themed BBQ & ice cream place to serve the local community where he was raised. Brian is proud to be part of the wonderful group of small businesses that call Butler County home. He hopes to make SideHack BBQ & Ice Cream a staple of this community, and serve quality creations to you all for many years to come!
